Register Now to Host the National Bible Bee in Your Community! Time is running out!     1/28/2009
By Leslie Smith

Concerned Women for America (CWA) is excited to announce the first annual National Bible Bee. Sponsored by the Shelby Kennedy Foundation, the National Bible Bee is a Scripture memorization competition for kids across our country. The competition is open to children and teenagers from 7 to 18 years of age.

Sign up now to host the event on September 12, 2009. The deadline to register your community is January 30, 2009, so hurry. Local winners will proceed to the National Contest held in Washington, D.C., on November 5-6, 2009.

CWA President Wendy Wright says, "Spelling and geography bees have gained in popularity and teach good skills, but the Bible Bee will help children learn material that is truly profitable to their souls. Kudos to the organizers for encouraging kids to study that which is most important."

With over $260,000 in prize money, and the top winner going home with $100,000, this is a serious competition with a fantastic message. Emphasizing the importance of Scripture in our daily life, the contest's motto is "Learn it! Speak it! Live it! Building Character … One Verse at a Time."

A recent Shelby Kennedy Foundation press release says that, "The goal of the Bible Bee is to build Godly character in young people by calling them back to the lost discipline of Scripture memorization."
